People want to see and buy things instantly on social media and in the blogosphere. I noticed myself the other day literally scrolling through Insta liking pictures within milliseconds and moving onto the next image. Instagram used to be a way for me to promote my latest blog posts and direct traffic to my blog. Now, I’m focusing my efforts 80% on Instagram and not feeling pressured to write blog posts if I haven’t got time or just not feeling it.

Reading blogs is something I personally only do if I have a lot of spare time. Which like most people trying to juggle a social life, work full time, blogging, exercising and everything in between, is difficult enough. The instant-ness of Instagram is making users look at fashion differently, and within a split second will decide whether they want to purchase something or not. They don’t want to be heading over to your blog to then find the link to the item, it’s just too time consuming!

I really do think the blogosphere is changing and I’ve been changing how I shoot content because of this. I used to hire a photographer for professional photo’s but now my iPhone photo’s on Instagram actually perform better. They have that more realistic, relatable feel to them which followers love. I will still be taking occasional outfits professionally for my blog but not as much as before. I guess the digital world is ever evolving and you have to evolve with it! It doesn’t mean I won’t be blogging at all but just investing my time more wisely.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether you read blogs anymore and what would make you go to someones blog from social media! Also what type of blog posts would you like to see more of from me? Leave your comment below.

This is so so true! I’ve recently started blogging more again and have definitely changed the way I do it – my blog is no longer outfit inspo but more editorial magazine style content that is useful to the reader and I’m leaving the daily outfits for Instagram!

This is so interesting, ahhh I am conflicted, part of me misses the days of reading blogs and when blogs were so popular but it is so useful to have everything compacted in to instagram, where I can scroll to my hearts content and not have to read anything if my brain is tired haha 😀 gorgeous blog!! xx
