I love blogging, I love fashion and I love styling. Being a blogger and showcasing my favourite outfits & personal style is what I love doing. However sometimes it can be hard not to get wrapped up in what the rest of the blogosphere is wearing. Have they jumped on a trend quicker than you, have they styled something better than you, have they got that brand new item already!? My personal style is something which I try not to let be influenced by other people too much, and focus on what I love in the fashion world instead.
My personal style
Trends come and go but classic staple pieces like the leather jacket and a white t-shirt will always remain favourites in my wardrobe. Pieces which can’t go out of fashion can be reinvented and I use to build outfits around. For example, I think the jumper I am wearing in this outfit I’ve featured around 4 times as it’s such a staple piece to complete an outfit.I’m definitely a sucker for the ‘New In’ section online and it’s easy to get roped into feeling you have to be wearing the latest ‘it’ product, but if it doesn’t feel very ‘you’ don’t give in to following the crowd.
There has definitely been times in my first year of blogging where I’ve felt that the outfit doesn’t feel 100% me (You can read about my first year in the blogging world here ) Going forward into 2017 I am only going to wear items which I love, no matter if it’s not the newest thing on the website, if everyone else is wearing that new ‘it’ piece or if it’s my favourite t-shirt from 3 years ago. Our personal style is what makes us unique and we shouldn’t let the media or our peers determine what we wear.
