Investing in a few essentials for your beach bag will keep you feeling stylish and prepared for any holiday, and if you get staple pieces they will last you season after season. As per my everyday style I like to keep my holiday wardrobe still quite minimal, however adding a few patterns here and there can really make you stand out on holiday.
The Beach/Travelling Bag
Getting a beach bag which doubles up as your ‘airport’ bag saves a lot of room in your suitcase especially if your luggage allowance is low. When I saw this bag on Dorothy Perkins I knew it was perfect. It is quite big so it was ideal for hand luggage and putting clothing in which won’t fit in your suitcase and also for carrying my camera.
The Knot Flip Flops
Knots have been all the rage for Spring summer in our everyday clothing, so why not stop there? These leather knot sandals are ideal for beach front walks, visiting new places or even just for wearing around the pool. As they’re leather they’re super comfy and have a solid sole so will last for ages (unless your feet grow!)
The Wide Brim Sun Hat
If you’re like me and dont do too well in the sun, the chances of getting sunstroke are quite high, this is why a hat is so important. You might only think a hat is essential to ‘complete your outfit’ but actually it is so important for making sure your head, eyes and neck are kept safe whilst sunbathing in hot weather.
The Aviator Mirror Sunglasses
I’m not one for spending loads of money on sunglasses purely because I always some how managed to scratch them! I’ve got myself a sunglasses case this year to make sure when I’m throwing them in my bag they will still remain in tact. Mirror aviators are really becoming statement eyewear this summer and these were only £6 from Forever 21. I think they’re out of stock now but Boohoo have some very similar here!
The Beach Towel
There’s nothing worse than a small towel, finding a beach towel which is a big enough size can sometimes be tricky. This super cute towel is from H&M and is a mix of polyester and cotton making it really light to pack in your suitcase and also to carry in your beach bag.
The Bandau Bikini
This is the best style swimwear for tanning and sunbathing. No weird tan lines, no strap marks and can be worn year after year. The plain black bikini is a classic and when I saw this super cute scallop trim style top from H&M I knew it would revamp a timeless piece.
The White Beach Shirt
A holiday wardrobe isn’t complete without a white beach shirt. Wearing it round the pool, down to the beach, walking around and sightseeing this is the perfect effortless go-to outfit. This one is from Pretty Little Thing and for only £22 you can dress it up and wear it on evenings too!
