48 HOURS IN LOS ANGELES

As the company’s head office is in Chicago I recently took a trip there to meet the team and whilst I was there I was lucky enough to head out Los Angeles for a few days to cover an event. It was such a whirlwind 48 hours.

Even though we were non stop working we tried to fit in as much as we could, including seeing the obvious tourist sights which you have to do, like the Hollywood Sign. We didn’t have enough time to hike up closer to the sign but this was good enough for me. We also visited Venice beach which is where the flag image above was taken and Santa Monica Pier. I would highly recommend getting a bicycle and cycling from Venice to Santa Monica, the bike track along the sea front is amazing and you get to see lots of things quickly. BUT beware… in hot weather do wear sunscreen, I didn’t realise how hot it was so I had the worst t-shirt burn ever, not a good look believe me!

We stayed in Hollywood at a hotel called Mama Shelter, which doesn’t sound appealing, but my room was a dream! From marble bathroom’s to funky carpets and décor this hotel really was the most instagrammable hotel I have ever stayed at. It was literally a 10 minute walk from Hollywood Boulevard which is another great ‘touristy’ thing to see including the Walk of Fame, the Chinese theatre and Madame Tussauds. Whilst I was there I even bumped into Dynamo which was amazing ( even though I looked like a tomato from my t-shirt burn ) Our trip ended working at an event in Hollywood on the Rooftop of Madame Tussauds which was a great end to our time in LA. I can honestly say that America had never been a place I had wanted to visit, but after this trip I would 110% love to go back.
