I have never been one for expensive make up and I can honestly say I have never brought a single thing from Mac. Sometimes the name of the brand inflates the price by a huge amount when in actual fact, you can get some pretty good stuff without having to spend a fortune.
About 6 months ago I saw a gorgeous colour lipstick in New Look whilst standing at the till purchasing an item of clothing. I picked it up and thought ‘ahh that’s cute £3.99 lets give it a whirl’ well it was the best £3.99 I have ever spent! To this day I still wear that lipstick, day in day out. It’s the perfect shade and really nourishing too. I have had so many comments on social media asking what lipstick I’m wearing and every time I say its from the ‘New Look Pure Colour range’ they are pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately the colour which I have stocked up on ‘Camel’ has been discontinued but they have a new colour ‘Mink’ which is almost identically the same… panic over!
As for the rest of their range, again, you can’t go wrong. The liquid foundation & the BB Cream which are in the image above are amazing. I can’t wait to take the BB Cream on holiday with me as it leaves a lovely glow which is perfect for when your skin is sunkissed. There’s a nail varnish for everyone too. From a shiny ‘gel’ polish to a matte black polish to a glittery textured polish, there’s some really cute colours for Spring/Summer.
I think it can be easy sometimes to follow the crowd and buy beauty products which have the ‘big’ names and for the amount of times a girl has to re-stock her make up bag it’s definitely worth trying out some of the cheaper brands products. For me a its a no brainer, you can get a cute coloured lipstick, which stays on for hours and keeps your lips feeling silky smooth for just £4 so why pay quad-rouple the price.
