I got the Olympus Pen E-PL7 Pancake Zoom Kit for Christmas and at first I was really unsure of how to use the settings to my advantage. The pancake zoom kit came with a 17-42mm lens which is perfect for flat-lays and every day blogging, as the lens folds in quite small (great for in a handbag.) It wasn’t until I wanted to take outfit photo’s with it I knew I needed to invest in the 45mm lens, to add an element of depth to my photo’s. I brought mine from Jessops as it was actually £100 cheaper than Olympus. Currently John Lewis is selling it for £179 too so I’ve linked this option below. I can probably say it was the best thing I’ve brought this year.
After lots of googling and some watching some brilliant tutorials such as The Style Nylons What settings do I need to use post & the Tips & Tricks for the Olympus Pen post I finally started to feel like a half decent photographer and that I was getting the most out of my Olympus. Even just simple settings like changing the Image aspect to 1:1 to get a square picture – perfect for shooting Instagram images; or using the blur background function when using the 17-42mm lens to get that 45mm lens effect.
Now onto the outfit. This outfit was shot by the amaaz-ing Rebecca Spencer on my Olympus using the 45mm lens. This is my everyday kind of look for going shopping, out for lunch with friends or even to just run errands. I love the colour pop of the handbag which brightens up a monochrome outfit. If you’re planning on using your Olympus to shoot outfits a 32GB memory card is advisable which can store up to around 8000 photos (enough for all those out-takes whilst on shoot.)

Robyn / Phases Of Robyn
Thanks Robyn! I was so pleased with how they turned out! Ahh, I opted for the Olympus as it was slightly cheaper than Canon and more compact, but you get amazing images with yours!

Hi Hun! I had been looking at it for ages after doing loads of research on different ones but this one definitely had the most features for its price! I hope I've helped you to take the plunge and be part of the Olympus Pen crew! You won't regret it! ๐

Alas I am not one of the Pen crowd but I love the sound of the 45mm lens, nothing like a great prime lens methinks ๐ I personally have a Fuji but I love how the Pen looks and feels – quite a few of my friends have it too and they're great trendy add-ons to going out if not an already cool camera. But – love the outfit, the jeans are amazing, I've been trying to find something like yours but ugh #petiteprobs4ever and everything is either too long/baggy and I basically end up like your average hobo hahahaha. And love how you added that yellow for a pop of colour, I have a bright orange bucket bag too, nothing screams spring quite like it ๐

Hi Cherie,
Thank you for your lovely comment! The 45mm lens is amazing, I'm so pleased I purchased! Topshop do a good range of petite jeans, I recently brought some in their sale which are a great leg length – not too long! Your orange bag sounds lovely! Perfect for Spring!

I got this camera for Christmas and I LOVE it. I'm clueless about cameras so I've had to do a lot of research on it, once you learn how to use it it's great! Definitely worth buying for anyone I think ๐
Hi Honey! Haha me too lots & lots of googling but as you said definitely worth it!

I've been so tempted to get a pen mostly for the wifi capabilities but for now I'm still mastering my canon and trying to shoot more in manual mode! Your pics are amazing though and love your outfit. Xx

Hi Tash!
Thank you! Yeah the wifi is brilliant! Literally takes a minute to get the photo from the pen to your phone! I'm still mastering manual too, lots of practice!

I always love images from the PEN. I do love my DSLR and how beautiful the images can be when using it, but you can't beat the ability to throw a smaller camera in your bag when on the go.

Fab outfit! I love the bag, my sister has it in like a grey colour and I'm dying to steal it off her ๐ I would love to get the Olympus but I'm not sure if I'm willing to part with so much money when I have a dlsr. It looks so cool though! x
